Ontario Provincial Police in Haldimand County says they are investigating animal cruelty involving abandoned kittens.
Police say someone found six kittens in a metal scrap bin beside a local business in Hagersville on Monday at 7 p.m after hearing the sound of kittens crying.
"This Good Samaritan was able to rescue two kittens from a bucket of water and three kittens from inside the bin," read the police release.

Another kitten was found in the bucket of water, but was already dead.
Police say the kittens that survived have been relocated to a rescue organization.
Officers are still investigating the incident, the OPP says.
